Mike Horne BEng CEng MIET is Managing Director and Head of Design of AD Aerospace Ltd. After qualifying from the University of Bradford with an honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering he worked extensively in video camera systems for extreme harsh environments from missile guidance and fire control, to pipe inspection and commercial security.
His work has included image intensified and thermal imaging systems. During his time at AD Aerospace, Mike has overseen the development of the first "Digital Video Network Server" compatible with aerospace requirements. This is now being installed on commercial airlines, and is being offered by Boeing as a Production Option on 737NG, 747-400, 767 and 777 aircraft.
Mike chaired the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE) working group on Flight Deck Door Monitoring Systems, the output of which, ED-123, forms the international basis for video monitoring on commercial aircraft. He is a Chartered Engineer, and a full member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology
Don Slattery, BSc [Hons] MIQA, is Group Quality Manager for AD Holdings plc. Don has over 25 years experience in the aircraft industry. After securing a mechanical apprenticeship with Hawker Siddeley in 1977, Don qualified in 1981 and worked for many years as Production Fitter and then Inspector with British Aerospace.
This was followed by spells as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and then as an Inspector and Quality Manager with a large aerospace subcontractor. In 1997 Don joined AD Aerospace as Quality Manager. Don's achievements have included the creation of quality systems for companies within the group and the attainment of various approvals including Boeing, CAA, JAR145, JAR21 and ISO 9001-TS157.
Don has facilitated quality improvement initiatives for various group companies and led initiatives for communication between suppliers within the CCTV aerospace supply chain. Don was also instrumental in obtaining an Air Operators Certificate for AD Aviation, enabling the company to fly executive air charters operations.
John Dolan is the senior AD Holdings representative in the USA. John has over 25 years extensive worldwide business experience in avionics sales. His qualifications include a BSEE from Dominican College, a BA in Business from Eckard College and a MBA from UVM, Goddard College. Prior to working for AD Holdings John has worked at both Fairchild/Loral and Grimes/Honeywell in various engineering and Management positions.
Rob Davies is the Marketing Manger for Aerospace and Military Applications at AD Group. He has many years experience in marketing Electronics and IT Applications particularly in the areas of TV, Cameras and Video. Rob's areas of responsibility include promotion and market research for AD Aerospace.
Rob joined AD Aerospace in 2009 and is responsible for business development in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Rob has many years experience working in technical sales including in aviation and has an extensive engineering background.
